U.S. EPA’s ENERGY STAR Program
Adam Spitz has worked extensively in the commercial food service (CFS) industry focusing primarily on commercial equipment research and energy analysis. He supports the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR program as the ICF specification product development lead for CFS equipment, most recently supporting EPA on the finalization of the Commercial Coffee Brewers ENERGY STAR Version 1.2 specification and the Version 4.0 Draft 1 Refrigerated Beverage vending Machines specification revision. Adam is also an active member of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Committee F26 on Food Service Equipment. Prior to joining ICF, Adam worked for Fisher Nickel, Inc. at the Food Service Technology Center (FSTC) where he applied comprehensive (ASTM) energy performance tests to CFS equipment, performed energy analysis and conducted in-depth commercial kitchen energy audits.
