NAMA Announces Victory in New York

Governor Cuomo Clarifies Safe Vending & Coffee

CHICAGO — June 29, 2020 — NAMA announces victory in New York involving the clarification of language regarding the use of vending machines and communal coffee stations in offices and auto dealerships.

Earlier this month, NAMA worked with state leaders to request the change related to offices and auto dealerships to ensure the continuation of vending and coffee service in those environments.

“Thank you to the NAMA members who sent 1,000 emails to Governor Cuomo and New York legislators urging this change. We also thank NYSAVA for their efforts in helping make this happen,” said NAMA’s Director of Federal and State Affairs, Mike Goscinski.

“Clarifying safe use, including regular sanitation and promoting social distancing, was imperative to the industry’s operation in New York. The importance of this victory cannot be overstated,” he continued.

NAMA represents the $34.9 billion U.S. Convenience Services Industry. By providing advocacy, education, and research, NAMA works to promote and protect the industry’s over 160,000 hardworking employees. Through traditional vending and micro markets, office coffee and pantry services, product manufacturing, and small-drop distribution, convenience services meets the needs of over 40 million American consumers daily at work, home, school, and play.
