The NAMA Industry Awards are a prestigious honor recognizing leaders in the industry. The awards are presented to individuals and companies that best exemplify consistent advancement of the convenience services industry.

The awards are presented annually at The NAMA Show and Coffee Tea & Water.

Below, you will find the descriptions of each award and the eligibility criteria for the nominees.

Industry Person of the Year

Industry Person of the Year recognizes an individual who has consistently exemplified the highest standards of professional excellence and achieved business success throughout his or her career in the convenience services industry. Candidates have been an inspiration and thought leader to others throughout their career.

Operator of the Year

Operator of the Year is presented to a company that best exemplifies consistent advancement of the convenience services industry. Candidates must be innovative and possess a willingness to expand conventional business practices.

Allied Member of the Year

Allied Member of the Year, presented to a non-operator member, recognizes a company who has exhibited the highest level of integrity, dedication, and leadership to convenience services. Candidates must provide innovative leadership, demonstrate responsiveness to the needs of the industry through education and best practices, and offer products and services that help operators grow their businesses.

Coffee Legend of the Year

The Coffee Legend of the Year is presented to a member with at least ten years of service to the coffee industry. This individual is seen as a pioneer, an innovator, a leader, and much more! Coffee Legends are passionate about coffee and willing to share that passion and education to help others succeed. The award winner has distinguished participation in the coffee industry, including but not limited to, coffee service operators, coffee roasters, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, brokers, and educators.

Eligibility Criteria

In addition to the criteria listed above, nominees must meet the following requirements:

  • Exhibit a history of service and leadership to the industry
  • Active participation in NAMA, state councils and their communities is highly valued
  • Be innovative, and possess a willingness to expand conventional practices
  • Follow consistent ethical business standards as described in NAMA code of ethics
  • Be a NAMA member in good standing.
  • Please note that award winners from the past 10 years are ineligible for an award

The process for nominating a candidate is short and simple. The nominator will submit the nomination form that includes the nominees contact information and a description as to why they nominated this person for the award.
